LGBT and Orthodox: Three Journeys and a Few Things to Think About

February 28, 2017 at 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Place: At the home of Susie and Fred Toczek in Beverlywood. RSVP for address.

Meet the panelists:

Michal, an attorney and a mom, is a Hillel/YULA/Michlala/Drisha alum. She is committed to halakha, but felt unwelcome in the Orthodox community when she and her partner moved back to Los Angeles from New York 10 years ago.

Jeremy is a gay Modern Orthodox millennial trying to make it in Hollywood. Coming from the more conservative Midwest, Jeremy found a home in Los Angeles to create a space for both his religious and LGBT identity.

Sheryl’s college aged daughter just came out. Drama? Trauma? Angst? Not really. Everyone is just fine.

Moderated by Miryam Kabakov and Rabbi Steve Greenberg, co-directors of Eshel.  Refreshments served.
