It’s a new year, and a time full of opportunity to reflect and plan and grow. What will 2026 hold for us? What are we striving towards? What are some goals, big or small, that can help guide us this year? We asked some of the Eshel staff, and this is what they said:

  1. I want to learn how to make water challah, and eat more challah generally – Meira
  2. I’d like to read at least one queer history book (Hopefully more!) – Jamie
  3. I want to integrate Torah learning into my life on a more regular basis – Ely
  4. I want to lein a chapter of megillah and actually feel prepared – Meira
  5. I want to be better at making time for friends “just because” – Sunnie
  6. I want to host more shabbat dinners, and use those as a way of connecting more deeply with my community – Jamie
  7. Make a practice of reaching out to friends to check in regularly – Meira
  8. Get more in touch with what my Jewish and LGBTQ+ identities mean to me independent of how I express them in community. -Mendel
  9. I want to show up more intentionally for the people I care about!- Teilah
  10. I want to find a good morning Minyan – Sophia
