NYC | Queer and Jewish Textiles Workshop

August 5 at 7:30 pm - 9:00 pm

Queer and Jewish Textiles: Presentation and Workshop with Jamie Lebovics | Monday, August 5 at 7:30pm at Marlene Myerson JCC Manhattan

Join us for an engaging presentation on the rich world of Jewish and queer textiles, led by Jamie Lebovics (they/them)!

Discover how textiles in every culture have been used to express history, personality, and identity. Explore a variety of textiles with Jewish significance, such as tallit, challah covers, and different styles of head coverings, as well as textiles with queer significance, including handkerchiefs for flagging and gender-affirming garments.

After the presentation, participate in a hands-on workshop where you can express your creativity. We look forward to a fun and inspiring session that celebrates the intersection of these rich traditions!
