<p align="center"><b>Queer Heroes &amp; Scoundrels in Jewish History and Texts</b></p>
<p align="center">Sexuality and gender find surprising   expression in Jewish poetry, prose, and case law. Thorough examination of the material reveals a sliver of life that has been all but erased from historical memory. We will meet six queer characters of Jewish history, both famous and infamous, whose stories will help us make sense of these issues for our own moment.</p>

<p align="center">As the first openly gay Orthodox rabbi, Rabbi Steven Greenberg has worked toward gay inclusion in both the civil and the religious frames. Rabbi Greenberg is a Senior Teaching Fellow at CLAL: The Jewish Center for Learning and Leadership, Co-Director of Eshel, an Orthodox LGBT community support and education organization, and author of <i>Wrestling with God and Men: Homosexuality in the Jewish Tradition</i></p>

<p>Professor Jay Ladin made headlines around the world when, after years of teaching literature at Yeshiva University, he returned to the Orthodox Jewish campus as a woman named Joy. In Through the Door of Life, Ladin takes readers inside her transition as she changed genders and, in the process, created a new self.</p>
